A member of the Dubbo Baha’i community has been recognised for his significant contribution to the city.<\/p>\n

Nasser Sedghi received a Dubbo City Community Service Award on 23 November at a ceremony organised by the Dubbo City Council and attended by more than 200 people.<\/p>\n

Mr Sedghi has been closely involved with the city’s annual multicultural festival since the mid-1990s.<\/p>\n

The multicultural festival, which had its origins in an initiative of the Dubbo Baha’i community, has grown from strength to strength.<\/p>\n

It is now a major City Council event comprising a week of celebrations. A committee, including Mr Sedghi, is appointed by the Council to organise the festival.<\/p>\n

The committee was a finalist in the 2006 National Multicultural Marketing Awards.<\/p>\n

The local newspaper, the Daily Liberal, reported that as a member of the Baha’i Faith, Mr Sedghi has made the promotion of the oneness of humanity a key aspect of his community activities.<\/p>\n

“Nasser regards this friendship and partnership with all Australians as the key to a happy life in a country area,” the Daily Liberal said.<\/p>\n

Mr Sedghi and his wife Farzaneh have run their computer business, CBM Computers, in the city since 1996.<\/p>\n

The firm has won an award for “Customer Service with a Smile” in the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Awards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
