{"id":1210,"date":"2010-11-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-11-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bahai.org.au\/index.php\/news\/new-web-site-takes-updated-approach\/"},"modified":"2017-10-14T04:51:45","modified_gmt":"2017-10-14T04:51:45","slug":"new-web-site-takes-updated-approach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bahai.org.au\/index.php\/new-web-site-takes-updated-approach\/","title":{"rendered":"New Web site takes updated approach"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bahai.org.au\/Portals\/0\/homepage_small.jpg\" alt=\"New Web site takes updated approach\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The new Web site of the Australian Baha&#8217;i Community invites members of the public to join with Baha&#8217;is in service to their neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<p>Launched today, the site at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahai.org.au\/\">www.bahai.org.au<\/a> has a different design, range of illustrations and emphasis to its predecessor produced in 2007, says spokesperson Natalie Mobini.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mobini said the site emphasises how Baha\u2019is are working alongside people in the wider community and learning from them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to help society develop in a positive manner, and so we offer what we think will be useful to Australians,\u201d Dr Mobini-Kesheh said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, in the section of the site called \u2018Participate\u2019, we describe how all Australians can join us in activities designed to build a vibrant community life in neighbourhoods across Australia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><b>Facebook<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe site now links with Facebook, Twitter and flickr in recognition of the new and diverse ways people are communicating on-line,\u201d Dr Mobini said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNews stories are given new prominence and we encourage people to subscribe to the news service,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>A new feature of the site is a guest blog, which will be updated regularly, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mobini said the site employs new photos and videos in ways that convey the diversity and vitality of the Australian Baha\u2019i community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn historical video has images dating from the arrival of the Faith in Australia in 1920 to current times, and other videos and profiles tell personal stories of individual Baha\u2019is,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>There are pages devoted to each State of Australia and a \u201ccommunity look-up facility\u201d to find contact details of Baha\u2019is in local areas.
